December & January Round-up
Unfortunately, I was a little late, wanted to wait until Monday :) Look what happened on the blog in the last 2 months and what you missed!
As I said before, due to my winter holidays I am joining around the new year in December and January.
review
Since I was trying to focus on the new designs I recently sold, January wasn’t very busy. The new variety is called Amelia and consists of two floral images and two quotes. I still have a little time to sort this out and then I can breathe easy ... and I can start something new, haha. Unfortunately, my performance still needs improvement, but we’ll manage, hehe.
For those who want to create hand-embroidered ornaments, I also released the Vignette Collection in December . I proudly decorated the Christmas tree with traditional ornaments and attracted everyone's attention :)
Another process that began and ended in December was a sudden bouquet using some of the seams we studied earlier. You can try to cook it yourself by looking at parts 1 and 2 :)
We also talked about the interface in hand embroidery. I came up with an idea that I didn’t talk about much among the template creators - and that is to use a fusible interface instead of the second part at the bottom of the part you use for the front. I have discussed the benefits of this method from a specific perspective and I have noted the disadvantages of this method that you need to know before trying it. For me personally, the positive is always harder than the negative :)
From reinforcing the material you use, this is one of the things you want to do if you use metal wires! Here is an article about DMC Diamond - the friendliest DMC metal wire I have ever met. There you will find some tips and be amazed at how easy it is to work compared to bent metals of the same brand. You can even tie French knots with it - by the way, this blog has its own accelerated course ! See all the tips for creating beautiful French knots and the possible causes of your mistakes :(
Finally, I would like to reiterate that I have updated old articles on the beginning and end of the topic . It’s a handmade need, so I wanted to bring the articles to what I learned after writing them.
Plans for February
Be the first to expect new designs! You're almost done :)
Second, when was the last time we learned something new? In November? It will not work! So yeah, I think we should start with new stitches this month :) There are also handicraft topics I want to cover, so stay tuned in the new section of our “Sewing Tips” section. I’m also thinking about writing an article about letters in hand embroidery and about what stitches you can use to make a letter. See the rest when the time comes :) Hopefully I have a feast with all of you!
