DIY Scissors fob tutorial
Today is a special day because we will learn how to make scissor pendants quickly and beautifully! Take on board :)
The birth of this charming little sister was completely unexpected and unplanned. A few days ago, I found out that August 21 is the day of scissors, so I wanted to participate in a flash mob, although I had never made this amulet before.
Typically, scissor hangers are square cushions that can also be used for ovens. But since my head was busy with other things and I really knew that during this time I would not be able to start and finish the "responsible" project, I decided to do something simpler and faster. This is how my mother was born :)
By the way, if you read and tried this master class on embroidery with pins , then making a pendant for you will be as easy as shelling pears :)
Scissor Hanger Tutorial
What you need:
he felt
- Fibers and needles for embroidery
- Embroidery scissors (manicure scissors if you need to cut small details)
- Threads and beads for pendants and laces (+ a needle for making beads)
Here is my boobs photo. I chose to post it as an image rather than a PDF so you can scale it however you like.
So, first you need to transfer the pattern to the fabric that you are using. Draw a cut for each petal.
I used a rhinestone on my sister because I wanted her to shine haha. But this, of course, is not necessary. If you also want to use beads or faux diamonds, I recommend using them at the end, once you've finished sewing on the yarn. It's like a castle in reverse! I just wanted to see if the diamonds would make it in here so I stitched it up and left it there haha. Don't be like me :)
Well, sew! Sorry, I'm too busy with this so I don't take step by step photos. But maybe it's better because you can color it however you like :)
And if you want the same as me, then here:
- DMC Ecru +775 +800 for the top two petals
- DMC 598 + 597 + 676 for side panels
- DMC 519+597 with random "variations" of color variations 4215+676 and ecru on both ends towards the center of the petal.
Now let's collect the keychain!
For this step, you need to prepare the pendant and cord. For the cord, I used knitted threads. And for pendants, you can use beads, amulets, or how to make a brush! Anything that makes you happy :)
You will also need a felt support that matches the size and shape of your face.
First, draw out the back, place a loose “tail” pendant in the lower center, and then place the sewn-on boobs on top. Like a sandwich, yes.
Now we will use the edge of the blanket to connect the front and back, now it is often called knitting for loops , so learn the lesson first .
Bring the needle to the edge of the mold. (Don't forget to tie the thread before! You can use the last method from this post: How to open thread when embroidering ).
Pass the needle through both figures from front to back and insert the working edge of the thread behind the needle.
We repeat the same steps, processing the edges of the pansies. If you find a pendant or string between two sides, just cross them. Don't worry, they are completely protected!
So fold the edges in the same way until you have made a full turn and are back to where you started the quilt. When you're done, secure the thread by piercing the mold and pulling the needle out (preferably not on the side of your face), and cut the thread there.
Your scissor pendant is ready! :)
Here's what it will look like from the other side. I used 3 colors to match the petals, but if you don't want to start and end the thread multiple times, you can use 1 color for the full border.
In addition, you can pinch the ends precisely by placing the stitches next to each other. Then the sensations under the seam do not appear. But I wanted to do it quickly and not let it cool, so I unwrapped the seams.
Make a pendant for mom and show it on Instagram with the hashtag #worldscissorsfobday and tell me not to get lost! Have a nice day! :)
