My watercolor progress and importance of guided learning
Earlier I mentioned my desire to learn to paint with watercolors և now I have some results to show :)
Frankly, I do not spend as much time with watercolor as I would like. In my opinion, more effective training will require more practice. I always make plans to "paint on weekends" or "evenings", but in the end all these plans fall apart and I paint when I have time. In any case, it is not bad, you should appreciate what you have :)
What exactly is my learning process?
At first I tried to paint myself, but very soon I did not like the result and put the watercolor aside, yes. I will not even say.
Then I found Wendy Tate's book. Oh my God, this was exactly the I needed. There are 3 instructions in the book, I followed two of them. See the results below.
Although these manuals do not literally explain each step (which is understandable, as it will be almost impossible to mark each step), they are well balanced. Enough detail to keep the instructions simple and concise, but there are still a few things missing for you to figure out for yourself.
Well, maybe not everyone will like it, but I like it, yes. I'm the kind of person who says, 'OK, let me try' when I'm learning, so I appreciate it when some things stay in your hands. But only the things that I can find out based on what I have learned before, you know :)
In short, if you want to learn how to paint with watercolors, I recommend Wendy Tate's books. After finishing the third lesson, I will definitely ask for more of his books and lessons.
And here are some things I sketched and painted myself in watercolor.
By the way, look at them carefully, because soon you will see someone with another "sewn" comment. :)
As I said before, the whole point of learning watercolor for me is to fill in the gap between imagining embroidery and doing it on fabric. At the same time, I paint what I think to give a clearer idea of what the design looks like on the fabric.
Frankly, I certainly need to practice more ... Two "unique" drawings (I mean in my head, no training և training) in a month, that's not exactly what I'm trying to do. And now that I'm busy sewing , I'll have less free time for watercolors.
Well, let's see how it goes. I do not know when my next progress update will be, but probably not in September haha.
Conclusion
I'm so happy to have watercolors. I started making handmade embroidery a long time ago, so it was a real pleasure to visit these shoes again. It helped me remember what it was like when I first sewed the seams , so I hope it will be reflected in my handmade embroidery instructions և articles :)
In addition, I was able to appreciate supervised learning much more . Without Wendy's step-by-step instructions and clear instructions, I would never have been able to draw these patterns myself.
My first actions that did not suit me were very clear - sincerely disappointed and disappointed.
On the contrary, every time I do one of Wendy's lessons, I gain confidence.
That's why I think the best way to learn something is to follow someone's instructions on guides, lessons, courses, and so on. And on the way try to work պատրաստ prepare something yourself, bringing to life everything you do. I learned from the teacher :)
