The "Art of Cozy" project: Part 1

Or "mixed therapy" :)

Here’s a project I’ve been talking about recently.

This month I created the theme of fabric color and attachments because I wanted to work on this little design, try these two things on it.

It all started with this simple sketch.

I usually make my own decorations as an individual flower or composition, but I really wanted to try the still lifes. And yes, everything can be worked out with points. But as I began to think about this or that approach, it became increasingly clear to me that I wanted to structure it more.

So I decided to add a color և material app :)

Hence this month’s posts on these topics. In terms of color, I had very limited experience with the material, the color of the tape, I wanted to test some ideas before applying the design. As for the application, I wanted to refresh my memory, apply some things I knew theoretically.

Therefore, the aim of the "Art of Cozy" project is to combine three styles: embroidery, painting և attachment.

Painting and building windows seems to me a therapeutic experience; I already feel lighter. after doing the minimums haha. So I ask you to join me և try to create your favorite colors, materials and threads և to suit your mood :)

I knew from the beginning that I didn't want a white background. And nothing too dark. My options were pretty limited, but I finally found this cotton blanket. It is a warm bare color that is not too light or too dark (it may be a little darker than the pictures). It also somehow mixes with the hot wood I have, which is good for me.

It is also not very light, it can have color and application on its surface. So yes, this option was easy when I came across this piece of fabric.

In fact, at this point I wanted to select other materials for my application.

However, it became almost impossible because a) I was still not sure which element to sew / apply և b) I was completely confused by the color palette. I was deciding what equipment might work for the project, but I wasn’t sure what to choose and where to apply it.

However, there was one thing I knew for sure.

I wanted the window inside to be white. To bring air to this project, to make it look like a window to another world :)

Now there are two options for this: paint it white or use a piece of white cloth as an attachment.

I decided to paint for practical reasons. The paint doesn’t completely cover the pencil lines, so I don’t have to repaint the vase or bouquet.

Well, this idea had its own unique result.

White is not 100% white here. When she was naked, they merged, she became very, very clear . By the way, I used coloring cloth.

It works for me anyway. But if I wanted 100% thick white color, I would go to the app and try to return the bunch. This is just an entry for you if you work :)

I haven’t set anything up yet, I share my current thinking.

At first I was pretty sure with this design. Model curtains, blue water attachment, dark green book and bare glass.

However, the dark curtains bothered me a lot ... I knew I wanted to have patterns. But this was probably a little "heavy" in the color scheme of this project.

After looking for more options, I came across this red patterned blanket. I actually liked it a lot. The color stands out, not covered, but quite strong. But at the same time it’s warm, I like how it gives a clear frame to the project.

I’m 80% sure of this option, but I still have my doubts. I’m also pretty sure about the water column. And a book with a cup is always in doubt.

Actually, I think of taking a piece of fabric, painting it with watercolor and then using it as a work piece.

Well, we'll see how it goes. Wait for the next steps :)

I will be very happy if you participate! With this design you can do whatever you want. If you want, you can do everything with thread, attachment or color. You can take the fabric և use it as a tablecloth. You can cut small flowers from the fabric and stick them in a bouquet (if they are too small, it is difficult to sew).

There are so many options to take advantage of and work yourself into comfortable windows. :)
