What I embroidered during vacations

My first stitch book

A lot of time without watch him! :)

Hello everyone! How are you? I hope you enjoyed your vacation! :)

Surprisingly, winter never came to us. I think climate change is on the rise as there was literally almost no snow… In fact, there was more snow in November. For a week or two, maybe. When I was at school, in December-January the temperature could reach -30 ° С ... Now 0 ... + 5 ° С. The difference, right?

As for embroidery, I have a new little project.

Honestly, ever since I started blogging, I've been a bit sad that I'm not as productive as I'd like to be with my embroidery. Looking at other artists able to create a few new works in a month, I wondered, not if I was trying hard enough.

But recent experience has explained my confusion.

It seems that the reason I'm not as productive is that I'm trying to document my steps, take pictures step by step, which is actually very time consuming. At the same time, once I was discharged for this vacation period, I embroidered a lot more :D

So what was the experiment?

In one of the blog posts, there was a question about some tips for seamstresses who want to work on certain things, but don't really want to use it for home decor or some sewing projects and the like.

And frankly, that's something I've had in my mind for a long time as well. Sometimes I also want to play with needle and thread, to work on something, but I don't have a specific goal.

So I came up with the idea of making a notebook to embroider!

Or a book of glasses. Or an embroidered notebook.

I don't know what to call it yet, but the idea is to just make pages with your little embroidery and then link them into a booklet.

Therefore, they are not found alone somewhere in the desk drawer (this is my personal pain), and you can get them if you wish, look at them, remember the process of working on them, show them to friends and relatives.

So I started working on the pages of my first embroidery book and had a blast!

The best part is that I liked the different tools and styles that I don't particularly use in my projects and I don't have a real goal but I always wanted to try this and that and just wanted to play around with them.

That's also why I see it as a SKETCHBOOK, and as… an album to embroider? Because it's like embroidery sketches. Some may be more detailed than others, some will take more effort and some will be just a game, but all in all it's a fun adventure!

Let me show you some pages in the gallery below :)

As you can see, I played with fabric paint , appliques , sequins and metal springs, DMC Diamant threads and other embellishments, and tried different styles that I didn't know about, generally I wouldn't develop my own creations.

And it was so much fun!

Again, the benefits are the same as a sketchbook. Increase your creativity, get out of your comfort zone and, most importantly, feel safe exploring new areas because you are not under pressure to achieve a good result. After all, this is just a sketch. But it's still expensive and can remain as a page in your brochure.

By the way, one of these pages is a draft of my next project I'm working on. If you're on Instagram, you probably already know which one :)

What do you think of this idea? What would you call such a small book? Do you want to try to do it yourself? :)
