May Blossoms Stitch Along: Part 2

Hello! This is the second part of the new Stitch Along.

I hope the first part went well for you. You can email your results to me at aminakdesigns@hotmail.com or tag me @stitch-floral on Instagram.

Today's section may seem small, but it does contain long and short lines that can be long, depending on your experience.

So I think this week will be enough to make a single full flower: if you work with one petal a day and the folded part of the flower for another day or two, it will be an easy and demanding process.

Part 1

Today we need points:

Long and short roast

fine satin stitch

cross line

split stitch

French knots

If you do not know them, check out this link. The flowers in this stitch were also done in the same way as the Cecilia Rose flowers , but we raised them a bit.

work on the petals

1) Divide each petal horizontally in half and mark directly on the fabric with a pencil. Take 1 string of yarn A and crochet a contour stitch on the left side of each petal.

2) I knit two rows to better separate the leaves from each other.

3) Then take 1 thread of color B and fill in the top of the petal. Be sure to trim the edges at the right corners of each petal. It's a small detail, but it will look even better if you sew the dots there. Use guide stitches if necessary, in my case I also used the basting section method .

4) It is not necessary to use shorter stitches at this stage, we can knit whole rows of equal length and finish your stitches at the middle marker.

5) If necessary, you can sew the left corner with long and short stitches (not just parallel stitches), because this place is difficult.

6) Then take 1 thread C and knit long and short stitches from the bottom of the petal to the middle. Now it's time to change the stitch length, but do not forget to continue with the previous stitch direction.

7) Add a few more stitches with string C on the edge between the current petal and the next petal.

8) Finally, add a row of long and short stitches to thread D with 1 thread.

curved + medium

1-2) Take 2 strands of yarn E and knit the folded edges of the leaves with separate stitches, then fine.

3-4) Then take 1 thread of the same color E and start sewing the filling we did earlier. This will add volume to this piece and lift it even more above the fabric. When embroidering satin stitch, remember to start somewhere outside the edges, maybe even in the middle. Then fill in one side of the area with parallel stitches before switching to the other side of the area and fill in the same way. Remember I embroidered this design after drawing it directly from my sketchbook. The shape of the folded piece in the pattern you downloaded has been slightly modified.

5) Let's start in the middle with a French knot in color F : With 1 thread and 2 turns of the needle, make a loop in the middle of this area. Or you can extend it anywhere in the middle and work in both directions.

6) Fill the rest with the same French knot (1 thread, 2 turns of the needle) color G , then make a smaller knot (1 turn of the needle) directly on the petal. Arrange them in a zigzag pattern: one at the top, one at the bottom.

All that!

I hope you enjoyed this part of Stitch Along and I look forward to your work!
